Renewable Power Capital to buy 528-MW wind portfolio in Sweden

Renewable Power Capital reached an €800 million deal to acquire 528 MW of planned onshore wind projects in Sweden.

The deal includes commitment of capital required for the construction of the Knäsjöberget, Sörlidberget, Vitberget and Storhöjden projects. Renewable Power Capital also assumes responsibility for completing procurement and overseeing construction management of the projects, it said in a May 31 news release. Its transaction partner was not disclosed.

London-headquartered Renewable Power Capital said the four sites are expected to generate power ready for export to the grid in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Through the deal, Renewable Power Capital more than doubles its onshore wind portfolio from 317 MW to a total of 845 MW across Sweden and Finland. The company, backed by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board's CPP Investments, also has a nearly 4-GW solar photovoltaic pipeline in Spain.

Newsec Infra advised sellers of the projects, according to the release.
