Calgary, Alberta-headquartered renewables developer BluEarth Renewables Inc. said May 24 that it has acquired the Eads wind and solar project in Kiowa and Cheyenne Counties, Colo., from private developer NorthRenew Energy LLC for an undisclosed amount.
The Eads project, in eastern Colorado, will total approximately 1 GW of new wind and solar generation and will be completed in multiple phases, BluEarth said in a May 24 news release. The transaction is also the second between the two companies this year. In February, BluEarth acquired a 247-MW wind project in Missouri from NorthRenew Energy.
"We look forward to entering the Colorado market with this project, which fits very well with our full life-cycle approach, taking projects from development to operations," BluEarth President and CEO Grant Arnold said in the news release.
