Streaming technology provider Roku Inc. extended its distribution agreement with Amazon.com Inc., the companies said April 4.
The multiyear extension, the terms of which were not disclosed, will allow owners of Roku devices to continue accessing the Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV apps.
The deal comes despite Amazon and Roku competing to become the largest vendor of streaming media devices, both globally and in the U.S.
Roku earlier reached a multiyear deal that enables its users to retain access to Alphabet Inc.'s YouTube and the YouTube TV app.
Amazon's streaming unit IMDb.com Inc. operates IMDb TV, formerly Freedive. IMDb TV's app is also accessible on mobile devices.
