Bank of America Corp. will start using at least 80% recycled plastic for its plastic credit and debit cards starting in 2023.
The transition will help reduce more than 235 tons of single-use plastics, based on the bank's issuance of 54 million consumer and commercial cards annually, according to a news release. The switch is also expected to reduce the bank's greenhouse gas emissions and energy and water usage.
