Cyber insurance services provider Cowbell raises $100M in funding round

Cowbell Cyber Inc. has secured $100 million in a series B funding round led by Anthemis Group SA.

Permira Funds, PruVen Capital, NYCA Partners LLC and Viola Fintech, along with existing investors, participated in the funding round.

The funding will increase investment in data science, underwriting, risk engineering and claims management; expand go-to-market channels; and support the company's reinsurance captive, Cowbell Re.

As part of the funding, Anthemis Group Managing Director Matthew Jones will join Cowbell Cyber's board and Victoria Cheng, partner at PruVen Capital, will join as a board observer. The company also appointed Michael Christenson, partner at CDX Advisors, as an independent board member.

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Cowbell Cyber is a cyber insurance services company that provides cyber insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises.
