Russia's Mobile TeleSystems PJSC and South Korea's KT Corp. signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation to build data centers and joint solutions based on artificial intelligence, among other new business directions.
Under the deal, MTS will use KT's capabilities as a major data center operator to build its cloud facilities in Russia, according to a Feb. 9 company release.
The two telco service providers will additionally contribute their technology, namely MTS' video analytics solutions and KT's voice recognition service, to work on AI-based solutions.
The memorandum also includes the joint production and distribution of media content through a partnership between MTS' KION multimedia platform and KT subsidiaries StudioGenie and Seezn.
