Ken Griffin's Citadel Securities LLC announced that venture capital firms Sequoia Capital Operations LLC and Paradigm Operations LP have made a $1.15 billion minority investment in the company.
Sequoia, which led the funding round, made its investments through Sequoia Heritage, Sequoia Capital Global Equities and the Global Growth Fund.
Alfred Lin, a partner at Sequoia, will also join the Citadel Securities board.
The firms' investment values Citadel Securities at about $22 billion, according to a news release.
