United Group B.V. completed its acquisition of Greek telecom operator Wind Hellas Telecommunications SA, according to a Jan. 12 report by N1, which is owned by United Group unit United Media Network.
The deal closing comes after the EU approved the transaction in December 2021. The deal will see Wind Hellas merging with United Group's Greek pay TV and telco unit Nova Telecommunications Single Member SA.
The acquisition gives United Group an additional 3.4 million customers in Greece, raising its total customers in the country to about 4.7 million.
The company has invested €1.4 billion in Greece and targets to invest about €1.3 billion more in the optical network, Pay TV and 5G network in the next five years.
