Amber Rudd has been appointed as a non-executive director of Centrica PLC, effective Jan. 10, the company said in a Jan. 7 filing with the London Stock Exchange.
Rudd, who previously served as U.K.'s secretary of state for energy and climate change from May 2015 to July 2016, as the U.K.'s home secretary from 2016 to 2018 and secretary of state for work and pensions from 2018 to 2019.
At Centrica, Rudd will serve as a member of the board's safety, environment and sustainability committee as well as its remuneration committee, according to the filing said.
