Renewable project developer Eolus Vind AB agreed to sell an up to 120-MW stand-alone battery energy storage system project in Los Angeles, Calif., to Aypa Power LLC, a Blackstone Inc. portfolio company.
The Cald project is Eolus' first stand-alone battery storage project in the U.S. It is currently in the development stage and is expected to reach commercial operation in 2024, according to a Jan. 1 news release.
Membership units in the project company have been transferred to Aypa, Eolus said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
