Glencore PLC said March 13 that its Antapaccay copper mine in Peru has resumed operations following a road blockade by local communities that forced it to temporarily shut down.
The protest was initiated by residents from 11 communities in the Espinar province over the lack of agreements between the company and the government. Glencore said it welcomes the will of the parties involved and the restart of dialogue.
The company also reiterated its commitment to the development of Espinar and Peru.
