Enel Green Power Panama SA agreed to supply 5,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually to data center operator KIO Networks Panama for a five-year period.
Under the power purchase agreement, the Enel SpA subsidiary will provide KIO Networks' data center in Panama with renewable energy from its 300-MW Fortuna hydro plant, according to a March 9 news release.
"For a company like KIO Networks, the supply of energy is a fundamental element for its specialized operations. Ensuring that this energy comes from renewable sources, brings added value to its environmental and sustainable commitments," said Bruno Riga, head of Enel Green Power Central America.
