The British Broadcasting Corp. on March 10 announced that it will transfer the BBC Children's Production and the commercial management of BBC Global News Ltd. to its subsidiary BBC Studios Ltd.
The plan is part of the goal of bringing all international commercial activities of the company in one entity.
Meanwhile, BBC World News channel's editorial control and operation will be transferred to public service news operation, with BBC Global News providing its international advertising and distribution.
In addition, BBC Studios will introduce complementary focused digital services, which cover potential commercial opportunities for audio and news programs.
These plans come as BBC Studios increased its financial target in the five years from 2022/23 by 30% to £1.5 billion. The BBC commercial unit is on track to meet its five-year returns target of £1.2 billion by 2021/22.
