Accelerant acquires Commonwealth Insurance from Fairfax subsidiary

Accelerant Holdings Ltd. has acquired Commonwealth Insurance Co. of America from Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. subsidiary Brit Group.

Delaware-domiciled Commonwealth Insurance is an admitted insurance carrier licensed to carry out business in 48 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

Accelerant plans to rename the acquired entity as Accelerant National Insurance Co.

Additionally, Accelerant has finalized the rollout of Accelerant InSightFull, a proprietary underwriting and analysis platform, into the U.S. market.

Accelerant InSightFull facilitates data flow from the retail broker to reinsurers and other risk bearing capital. The platform, which was initially launched as part of Accelerant's European and U.K. operations, has previously been implemented across its underwriting activities in more than 13 countries.
