RWE AG subsidiary RWE Supply & Trading GmbH signed a sale and purchase agreement for the supply of 0.84 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas from Woodside Energy Trading Singapore Pte Ltd.'s Pluto LNG export terminal in Australia.
The Pluto facility processes natural gas from the Scarborough gas field near the coast of Western Australia. Woodside Energy has proposed a brownfield expansion of Pluto through the construction of a second gas processing train named Pluto Train 2.
The seven-year sale and purchase agreement is not subject to any final investment decisions on any project, RWE said in a Feb. 19 press release. The agreement is expected to become effective in 2025.
Woodside Energy and RWE are also exploring options to produce and market hydrogen at export scale as part a memorandum of understanding they signed in October 2020.
