BBC launches streaming channel BBC Select in US, Canada

The British Broadcasting Corp. unit BBC Studios Ltd. launched its new ad-free subscription-based streaming channel BBC Select in the U.S. and Canada.

The channel is initially available on Amazon.com Inc.'s Prime Video and on Apple Inc.'s Apple TV, according to a Feb. 18 news release.

BBC Select has a monthly subscription fee of $4.99 in the U.S. and C$6.99 in Canada.
