Four Flags Area CU plans to merge with Great River FCU

Niles, Mich.-based Four Flags Area CU plans to merge with Saint Cloud, Minn.-based Great River FCU, according to the former's website.

The partnership is expected to offer expanded services to Four Flags members and additional branch and ATM access to Great River members.

The combined entity will be called Great River FCU. Four Flags will continue to operate as a branch of Great River from its current facility in Niles. All Four Flags employees will be retained as part of the transaction.

Four Flags Area CU has called a special meeting of its members for Dec. 30 to vote on the proposed merger and expects the effective date of the merger to be Dec. 31.

As of Sept. 30, Four Flags Area CU had $6.4 million in assets and Great River FCU had $249.5 million in assets, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.
