Vodafone Group PLC and CityFibre Infrastructure Holdings Ltd. agreed to increase the target reach of their fiber rollout to up to 8 million U.K. homes by 2025, as part of an expanded long-term strategic partnership.
CityFibre's rollout will deploy full fiber infrastructure in 285 cities, towns and villages across the country by 2025, according to a Nov. 11 news release. The fiber network's footprint currently covers over 1 million homes.
CityFibre recently secured about £1.13 billion of financing in a recent capital raise.
CityFibre is investing in a new national network that Vodafone and other wholesale telecom partners can access to speed up the delivery of full-fiber broadband services. New customers are expected to get a service installation date within five working days of placing orders.
