Spotify's podcast subscription service launches in 33 new markets

Spotify Technology SA is launching its Podcast Subscriptions offering in 33 more markets, its podcasting platform Anchor FM Inc. announced Nov. 17.

The music streamer's podcasting service will initially be available in 29 new markets on Apple Inc.'s iOS and on Google LLC's Android. The service will also be available in four additional markets next week.

The expansion is mostly focused on Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. It follows the launch of Podcast Subscriptions in the U.S. last August.

The Spotify AB parent company will continue providing the service to creators for free until 2023.
