Six Flags Entertainment appoints new CEO, president

Regional theme park company Six Flags Entertainment Corp. appointed Selim Bassoul as its new CEO and president, effective immediately.

Bassoul, who was previously the company's nonexecutive chairman, replaces Michael Spanos, who has stepped down as CEO, president and member of the board after two years.

Bassoul will remain a member of the company board.

In addition, Six Flags named former Spirit Airlines Inc. CEO Ben Baldanza as its new nonexecutive chairman.
