Insurance moves: Axis Capital appoints 2 heads within ILS team; Ascot names SVP

Property and casualty

Kyle Freeman and Patrick Witteveen joined Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. as head of insurance-linked securities, or ILS, structuring for property and head of Axis ILS business development, respectively.

Freeman was head of North America programs pricing at Axa XL. Witteveen, whose appointment is effective Feb. 1, 2022, was head of investor relations and business development at Securis Investment Partners LLP.

Axis Capital's specialty insurance business segment, Axis Insurance, appointed Chelsea McIntyre and Nicholas Crowder as senior underwriters to its U.S. excess and surplus property team.

McIntyre and Crowder join as vice presidents responsible for building the E&S property book in the West Coast and Chicago regions, respectively.

Ascot Group Ltd. named Mitch McBain senior vice president and head of management liability in Bermuda.

McBain was head of U.K. and international for financial, executive and professional directors and officers at Willis Towers Watson PLC.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. added Theo Norris to its cyber reinsurance team as a cyber ILS broker.

Norris was the ILS assistant vice president at Aon Securities.
