UnitedHealthcare's virtual-first health plan; Lockton's cyber property solution

Several insurance companies disclosed new products and coverage enhancements in recent days.

Life and health

Humana Inc. is offering a dual eligible special needs Medicare Advantage plan in Connecticut for people eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. The plan, available in Hartford and Tolland counties, includes a $50 monthly Healthy Foods Card and a $75 monthly over-the-counter allowance.

Humana is also rolling out its Humana Honor plan in Hartford and Tolland counties. The zero dollar premium preferred provider organization plan is designed to complement Veterans Affairs healthcare coverage by covering healthcare services, including dental coverage, at civilian facilities.

UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group Inc. company, unveiled NavigateNOW, a virtual-first health plan that offers people with a personalized virtual care team to provide medical and behavioral health services.

NavigateNOW is being offered to employers in Little Rock, Ark.; Fort Meyers, Fla.; Pittsburgh; Springfield, Mass.; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.; Richmond, Va.; Indianapolis; Dallas; and Houston.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Inc. rolled out new plan offerings, including the Open Access Flex PPO plan, to Medicare-eligible residents in Texas and expanded to 58 more countries within the state.

Oscar Health Inc. partnered with three Colorado health systems, UCHealth, University of Colorado Medicine and Children's Hospital Colorado.

The aim of the partnerships is to offer Oscar's individual and family health insurance plans across the state beginning 2022, pending regulatory approval.

Softlogic Life Insurance PLC rolled out a U.S. dollar savings life insurance solution, Dollar Saver, for Sri Lankans, The Island Online reported.

The two-year savings plan has a 6.5% guaranteed annual return on policyholders' savings in dollars, while giving them a life insurance cover equal to the maturity benefit.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio and The Kroger Co.'s healthcare division, Kroger Health, partnered to offer 2022 Medicare Advantage plans that include allowances for buying food, as well as health and wellness items at Kroger Family Stores.

Property and casualty

Core Specialty Insurance Holdings Inc. and its subsidiaries signed an agreement with Risk Placement Services Inc. to offer lawyers professional liability.

The program, available on a nonadmitted basis, features first dollar defense deductible, per claim and aggregate deductible options, and pre-claim assistance, among others.

Wright National Flood Insurance Services LLC expanded into Georgia with the launch of its exclusive, admitted, stand-alone flood product, Wright Residential Private Flood Insurance.

The product, underwritten by Zurich American Insurance Co., became available to residential property owners Oct. 19. Its features include dwelling limits of up to $1 million, automatic replacement cost on both dwelling and personal property, as well as loss of use, other structures and building ordinance coverage.

Real estate technology company Rhino partnered with Cover Genius Insurance Services LLC to expand into renters insurance.

The Rhino Renters Insurance Program, powered by Cover Genius' global insurance distribution platform XCover, offers embedded renters insurance. The program is an extension of Rhino's core product, Security Deposit Insurance.

Thimble extended its general liability business insurance coverage for roofing contractors.

The insurtech startup's general liability coverage protects policyholders from the financial consequences of claims resulting from accidents that cause third-party bodily injury or property damage, as well as personal and advertising injury. The product also provides insureds with the defense and investigation of claims.

Neptune Flood Inc. partnered with Texas-based National Automotive Programs LLC.

The partnership extends Neptune Flood's platform to the specialty insurance broker's more than 22,000 locations in the U.S., offering access to the insurtech's flood insurance solution.

Lockton Inc. unveiled its Silent Cyber Property Solution, a stand-alone policy that covers businesses against property damage and the resulting time element losses caused by cyber-attacks or cyber terrorism, Insurance Journal reported.

The product is offered around the world, except for buyers or exposures originating in China and Israel. It also provides coverage for extra expense, loss of rent, prevention of access, protection and preservation of property, debris removal, fire brigade charges, and expediting expense.
