Kuaishou chairman gives up CEO role

Kuaishou Technology Chairman Su Hua ceased to concurrently serve as CEO of the company, according to an Oct. 29 news release.

The content community and social platform provider promoted Chief Product Officer Cheng Yixiao to succeed Su as CEO. Su will remain as chairman, an executive director and a member of the board's remuneration committee.

Su and Cheng are Kuaishou's co-founders, with both being credited for launching the company's short-video business.

The leadership changes are in line with the latest organizational revamp announced in late September, in a bid to transform Kuaishou's structure to business unit-based from function-based. The move is aimed at boosting the company's management efficiency while complying with securities listing requirements on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.
