Vodafone to offer Discovery's streaming service in Europe

Discovery Inc. will bring its discovery+ streaming service to 12 European markets via operator Vodafone Group PLC.

Under the long-term, multiplatform agreement, existing Vodafone subscribers in Europe will have access to the streaming service.

In the U.K. and Turkey, the offering will be available to Vodafone mobile subscribers. Meanwhile, access to discovery+ will be available to both TV and mobile subscribers in Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania, Portugal, Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland and Iceland.

The rollout will take place throughout 2021 and 2022, and will see discovery+ offered to an estimated 100 million Vodafone subscribers in Europe.

The fees for discovery+ access through Vodafone were not disclosed. In the U.S., discovery+ will have a monthly subscription fee of $4.99.
