MetLife unit completes reinsurance transactions with Legal & General subsidiary

MetLife Inc. unit Metropolitan Tower Life Insurance Co. completed four U.K. longevity reinsurance transactions with Legal & General Assurance Society Ltd. in 2020.

Under the agreements, Metropolitan Tower Life Insurance will provide reinsurance to the Legal & General Group PLC subsidiary for longevity risk associated with a combined total of about $2 billion of pension liabilities.
