Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. filed an appeal against a court ruling that allowed the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority to push on with 5G spectrum auctions while the Chinese telecom gear vendor was excluded from the country's 5G deployment, Reuters reported Jan. 7.
According to a statement cited by the report, the company said the agency's move excludes Huawei from the Swedish market.
The Stockholm administrative court of appeal's ruling had overturned an earlier court decision halting parts of the regulator's move to ban Huawei from the country's 5G rollout, leading the regulator to postpone the auction. PTS then appealed against the court ruling.
PTS had imposed a ban on Huawei and ZTE Corp.'s products in Sweden's deployment of 5G networks over security concerns, which Huawei appealed.
