Edmond de Rothschild chairman dies from heart attack

Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA Chairman Benjamin de Rothschild has died from a heart attack, the Swiss firm said Jan. 16.

De Rothschild passed away Jan. 15, according to the company. He had led the group since 1997.

Prior to his passing, De Rothschild had already handed over the management of the group's day-to-day business to his wife, Ariane de Rothschild, the Financial Times noted.

Deputy CEO Cynthia Tobiano said the company's business will not be affected by de Rothschild's passing, adding that the executive committee has been implementing the company's strategy, according to the FT.
