Central Maine Power Co. completed the transfer to NECEC Transmission LLC of seven transmission service agreements connected to the 1,200-MW New England Clean Energy Connect transmission line. NECEC is a newly created subsidiary of Avangrid Networks Inc.
The transaction was completed Jan. 4 (EC20-24), according to a Jan. 13 notice filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Central Maine Power transferred agreements and related books and records to NECEC as part of the deal.
The transmission project is a 320-kV, 145-mile overhead high-voltage, direct-current transmission line that will allow for the delivery of up to 1,200 MW of hydroelectric power from Quebec to New England for at least 20 years.
Central Maine Power and Avangrid Networks are subsidiaries of Avangrid Inc.
