Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA has merged with Vietnam's SAB Beer Production Limited Co. after securing approval from the country's Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam News Agency reported Jan. 13.
The Belgian brewer believes the deal will help the company expand, boost capacity and simplify supply chain resources, the report said.
All SAB Beer workers will be absorbed by AB InBev Vietnam with their job contracts intact, according to the news agency.
SAB Beer's brewery in the Vietnamese province Binh Duong will now produce Budweiser and Beck's products while AB InBev's brewery in My Phuoc will continue to make Hoegaarden beer and other brands for export to Japan and Southeast Asia, the report added.
AB InBev did not immediately respond to S&P Global Market Intelligence's request for comment.
