The North American credit union landscape is evolving rapidly—and leaders need to stay ahead of the curve. As we reach the midpoint of 2026, volatility in fixed income markets is influencing strategic decisions, with credit unions across the U.S. and Canada pursuing markedly different growth paths shaped by their unique regulatory environments. In the United States, we are witnessing unprecedented scale through large credit union mergers and a notable trend of credit unions acquiring community banks, fundamentally reshaping the competitive landscape. Meanwhile, Canadian credit unions are charting a distinctly different course—some are consolidating power within their provincial borders through strategic mergers and asset acquisitions, while others are seeking to operate nationwide.
Join us for webinar where we'll leverage S&P Capital IQ Pro to analyze recent M&A trends, examine how fixed income markets are influencing transactions and compare deal structures across North America.
