Joe is an Associate Director within the Desktop Product & Market Development team with a focus on the Corporates and Professional Services segment. Joe is an Associate Director within the Desktop Product & Market Development team with a focus on the Corporates and Professional Services segment. He has been with S&P Global since 2012 working in various roles within the organization, including Client Support, CMBS analysis for S&P Global Ratings, and a Commercial rep for several different customer segments. He now oversees Product and Market Development for the Corporates and Professional Services workflows with a focus on the S&P Capital IQ Desktop.

Jeff has 28 years of experience in investment banking and private equity investing and over his career has served on the boards as a director of seven Blackford Capital portfolio companies.
Jeffrey Johnson is a Managing Director of Blackford Capital, having joined the firm in 2015. He has over 28 years of experience in investment banking and private equity investing. Jeff is involved in all facets of the firm’s operations, including transaction sourcing, investment analysis, portfolio construction and management, deal financing, internal operations, and fundraising.
Prior to joining Blackford Capital, he was a Managing Director and founding principal at Gilbert Global Equity Partners, L.P. (formerly Soros Capital, L.P.), a billion-dollar middle-market private equity firm headquartered in New York City. Jeff led growth equity and management buyout investments in the specialty manufacturing, consumer products and business services sectors as well as served on the boards as a Director or observer of six portfolio companies during his 17 years with the firm. Throughout Jeff’s tenure, he worked closely with multiple global manufacturing and distribution companies to accelerate growth and transform their performance with superior customer-driven strategies, operations, organizations and technology.
Prior to Gilbert, Jeff worked as a Director in the alternative investments practice at Russell Investments, a global asset management firm with over $265 billion in assets under management, and in a corporate development role at Kansas City-based Hallmark Cards, Inc. where he co-led the company’s acquisition and divestiture activities primarily in the consumer products and telecommunications industries. Jeff also worked as an investment banker in the mergers and acquisitions department at Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Euan Rellie is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of BDA, based in New York. He is also President of BDA Advisors Inc, the firm’s SEC/FINRA registered broker-dealer. Since founding BDA in 1996, he has lived in New York, London and Singapore. He has worked in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, and across the Middle East. 1990-1996, he worked for Schroders, the UK investment bank now part of Citigroup, in New York, London and Singapore.
He was Head of SE Asia Execution for Schroders Asia-Pacific Regional Advisory Group. His clients have included Ardian, Bain Capital, CITIC Capital, Dainippon Ink & Chemical, DuPont, Ecolab, Flex, Hanjin, Happy Socks, ICICI, Intel, Investcorp, Kraft Foods, Lavazza, Life Technologies, Lubrizol, Materion, Nalco, On Semi, One Equity Partners, OpenGate Capital, Pfizer, Philip Morris, Platinum Equity, Sara Lee, Shimano, Sigma-Aldrich, Tenneco, Terex, ThomsonReuters, Wockhardt and Yucaipa.
He is the recipient of the 2023 M&A Advisor Leadership Award, was named Dealmaker of the Year in 2016 and 2012 (by The M&A Advisor), 2014 North American Investment Banker of the Year, and one of the Top 50 Global M&A Dealmakers (by The Global M&A Network). He was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge.

VP of Corporate Development
Nigel Rughani is Vice President of Corporate Development at Vertex. He is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities for Vertex through partnerships, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments globally. Nigel has extensive experience in M&A including management of all phases of analysis, due diligence, and transaction structuring.
Prior to joining Vertex, Nigel led M&A activities at AmeriHealth, a national health insurer based in Philadelphia. He began his career in the Investment Banking department at Jefferies, and later in the M&A department at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey.
Nigel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University.
