Summary
Disruption, resilience, and the reshaping of global energy flows
This session will examine how the Middle East crisis has evolved from a geopolitical shock into a structural test for global LNG and gas markets. With a critical export corridor disrupted, market participants are being forced to reassess supply security, regional exposure, and the durability of current pricing assumptions. The discussion will separate what matters now from what could reshape the market for years to come.
Geopolitical Drivers: What shapes the crisis—and what could resolve it
- Potential pathways to de-escalation and market stabilization
- Scenarios for Strait of Hormuz reopening and implications for LNG trade flows
- Postwar regional dynamics and their impact on global LNG markets
Short-Term Gas & LNG Outlook: How markets are responding today
- Asia vs. Europe reaction to reduced Gulf LNG supply
- Key drivers behind the moderate price response
- Near-term scenarios and JKM/TTF price outlooks
Long-Term Gas & LNG Outlook: From disruption to structural change
- Shifting supply outlook and implications for new LNG investments (FIDs)
- Energy security as a driver of LNG demand
Long-term pricing implications in a more risk-sensitive market
