Hamed Tabatabaie

Data Analytics Director

Hamed Tabatabaie is a director of upstream data analytics with S&P Global Commodity Insights and has been responsible to develop different physics-based and data-driven models.

Hamed's primary areas of interest include data analytics and mathematical modeling (both Analytical and Numerical) of conventional and unconventional reservoirs, production data analysis to optimize hydrocarbon recovery. He has been involved in various reservoir simulation studies, reserve estimation and production data analysis of conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Hamed has co-authored more than 20 technical papers in various journals and conferences and also co-authored the SPE Monograph of "Unconventional Gas and Tight Oil Exploitation". He participated in critical study of BP-Macondo MC252 oil well blow-out to estimate the cumulative volume of oil spill in Gulf of Mexico for United States Department of Justice.

Hamed is a member of Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA) and holds Bsc, Msc and PhD degree all in petroleum engineering.
