Soumitro Nagpal leads PEP’s coverage of refining technology and refinery-petrochemical integration developments and analysis at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Soumitro is Technical Director-Refining Processes for the Process Economics Program (PEP) at S&P Global Commodity Insights. He leads S&P Global Commodity Insights PEP group's coverage of refining, refinery-petrochemical integration, and crude oil to chemicals (COTC) developments. He has over 28 years of experience in the oil and gas Industry. In the past he has worked at Fluor Corporation where he was responsible for process plant design & engineering for petroleum refining, gas processing, and chemical industries. He was recognized as a global subject matter expert (SME) for steady state and dynamic process simulation. He has also worked at Engineers India R&D group where he was responsible for technology evaluation & development for the oil and gas industry. He has published over 30 technical articles in reputed journals and conferences.

Soumitro is a Chemical Engineering graduate of BITS-Pilani (India) and the University of Utah, USA (Ph.D.).
