Fernanda Machado, research and analysis associate director for the Plays & Basins team part of Upstream practice at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Fernanda, research and analysis associate director at S&P Global Commodity Insights, has 15 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on upstream. Fernanda joined S&P Global(now part of S&P Global) in 2011 and focuses on Plays and Basins research, mainly focused in Latin America which includes the most important basins in Brazil, Guyana, Mexico, Colombia, Trinidad &Tobago and Bolivia. Previously, as a strategy consultant, she developed market assessments for the energy industry in Brazil, collaborating with different teams. The segments involved included upstream, the Brazilian gas market, LNG, and upstream supply chain sectors such as support vessels. Her industry background includes upstream production optimization through integration of the latest digital technology, market assessment and benchmarking, key performance indicators and integrated planning for operational units, market analysis, process modeling and capital project management. Prior to joining S&P Global, Fernanda was a consultant for Accenture Consulting, where she primarily engaged in oil and gas industry projects in both the downstream and upstream sectors in both Angola and Brazil.

Fernanda holds a degree in industrial engineering and an MBA from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
