Sam, Director on the North American Power team, specializes in energy storage and power market fundamentals. He leverages a background in power modeling to conduct analyses on the interaction between renewables, energy storage, and conventional resources in wholesale power markets. With more than 10 years experience in the industry, he is a regular speaker at S&P Global Commodity Insights events and external conferences, and have been cited by major media publications. He uses his expertise to advise clients on a variety of issues related to market strategy, due diligence, and scenario development.

Prior to joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, Sam was a consultant on state energy efficiency policy before completing graduate work on distributed energy resources and the utility of the future.

He holds a BA in mathematics from Colby College and a MS in technology and policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
