Sofia Galas is a research analyst with the Climate and Sustainability Group at IHS Markit. Mrs. Galas focuses on the analysis of the Russian gas, power, and renewables markets. Prior to joining IHS Markit, she was involved in an import substitution project at Gazprom Neft, where she was responsible for strategy development. Mrs. Galas also has experience at venture capital fund Phystech Ventures, where she led a startup accelerator project and conducted investment analysis of more than 100 Russian startups in the oil industry. Mrs. Galas holds a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Moscow, where she studied gas fields development.
