Ian Archer is an expert on North American natural gas markets focused on Canada at S&P Global Energy.
Ian specifically analyzes Canadian supply and demand fundamentals, transportation infrastructure, gas storage, Canadian LNG, and the outlook for Canadian gas prices. He contributes to IHS Markit(now part of S&P Global) market outlooks across the time horizon from weekly to 30 plus years. He is also involved in scenario analyses, and consulting projects for mid-stream natural gas assets, petrochemicals and LNG. He has 20 years of experience in market fundamentals, quantitative research, gas market modeling, corporate strategy, macroeconomics, and global LNG markets and is a frequent speaker at conferences and with the media. Prior to joining S&P Global, he held various positions with TransCanada, TransAlta, and the National Energy Board.
Ian holds a BA (Honors) from Queen's University at Kingston and an MA (Economics) from the University of Victoria.
