Health ChoiceInsurance Co. will not participate in Arizona's health insuranceexchange in 2017, The Arizona Republic reported,citing company officials.
Laura Waugh, communicationsdirector at Health Choice, said the decision to drop out of the exchangewas driven by the business and regulatory uncertainties associated with themarketplace. The company's non-ACA marketplace planswill not be impacted, according to the report.
UnitedHealth Group Inc. and have notified the ArizonaDepartment of Insurance that they would not offer health plans at the state's marketplace in 2017.Blue Cross Blue Shield of ArizonaInc. and CenteneCorp.'s Health NetInc. will stopoffering health plans in Maricopa and Pinal counties in 2017.
