President of First National Bank of Sparta to retire, successor named

David Hauskins is set to retire as president of Illinois-based First National Bank of Sparta on Dec. 31, the (Percy, Ill.) County Journal reported Dec. 22.

Hauskins began serving as president of the bank in 1991, the report added. He will continue to serve as chairman of the board and president of First Bancorp of Sparta Ltd., the bank's holding company.

Hauskins will be succeeded by David Sternberg, who has been with the bank since 2010. In 2015, Sternberg was promoted to executive vice president and was elected to the bank's board, according to the publication.
