Report: BNP Paribas shows interest in RBI Polish unit

BNP ParibasSA is considering buying Raiffeisen Bank Polska SA, Reuters reported July 8,citing three market sources.

RBI is selling its Polish bank as part of a restructuringplan to boost its core capital ratio and reduce its balance sheet, with theprice it could get for the unit, excluding its Swiss franc-denominated mortgageportfolio, estimatedat between €800 million and €1.0 billion, the newswire noted.
