Microsoft Corp. on Aug. 10 unveiled a new solution that it said will make it easier for businesses to adopt blockchain technology.
Blockchain technology links data lists that are secured using cryptography, preventing third parties from accessing the data. The Coco Framework combines advanced algorithms and trusted execution environments, or TEEs, like Windows Virtual Secure Mode or Intel Corp.'s Software Guard Extensions, with blockchain while also increasing the speed of transactions. The framework will be compatible with any ledger protocol and can operate both on premises and in the cloud, on any operating system and hypervisor that supports a compatible TEE, Microsoft said.
