Madison International Realty LLC purchased a 3.12% stake in Capital & Counties Properties PLC.

The New York City-based real estate investor now owns approximately 26.5 million shares in the U.K.-based property investment and development company.

Madison said it supports Capital & Counties' plan to split the Covent Garden estate and the Earls Court mixed-use scheme in London into separate entities, given their different investment profiles.
