Discovery Inc. acquired Latin American Golf SL, which operates 24-hour pay TV channel Golf Channel Latin America, from Simple Networks LLC and Inversiones Bahía Ltd. affiliate Fornaluz Productions SA.
The financial details of the transaction were undisclosed.
The acquisition of Golf Channel Latin America, which is available in 17 countries, is intended to expand Discovery's global golf media business in Latin America.
Following the transaction, Discovery plans to improve its live coverage and programming on Golf Channel Latin America and GolfTV from January 2020.
The most recent deal comes after Discovery acquisition of Golf Digest from Conde Nast. The company also previously entered into an agreement with PGA Tour for direct-to-consumer offering GolfTV, as well as an exclusive global content partnership with Tiger Woods.
