Aflac issues yen-denominated senior notes

Aflac Inc. issued ¥53.4 billion of senior notes Oct. 18.

The offering included ¥29.3 billion of notes with a 1.159% coupon due 2030, ¥15.2 billion of notes with a 1.488% coupon due 2033 and ¥8.9 billion of notes with a 1.750% coupon due 2038.

The notes are general unsecured obligations and rank equally in right of payment with any of the company's existing and future unsecured senior debts.

The company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes.

As of Oct. 18, US$1 was equivalent to ¥112.19.
