Lemon Tree Hotels to acquire Berggruen Hotels-operated Key Hotels

Indian hotel chain Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd. signed a nonbinding term sheet for the purchase of Keys Hotels, which is operated by Berggruen Hotels Private Ltd.

Berggruen Investments is the holding company of Keys Hotels, a middle-market hotel chain in India. Berggruen Hotels is backed by private equity firm Berggruen Holdings.

Keys Hotels owns seven hotels containing 936 rooms across six cities in India, and operates 14 hotels in management or franchise agreements with 975 rooms across 14 cities.

The acquisition, which will be made by Lemon directly or through its subsidiaries, is subject to due diligence and requisite approvals.
