Oenon Holdings Q2 profit climbs YOY

Oenon Holdings Inc. said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to ¥5.73 per share, a gain from ¥2.79 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥359.6 million, a gain from ¥175.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.7% from 0.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 5.2% year over year to ¥21.66 billion from ¥20.59 billion, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to ¥21.04 billion from ¥20.28 billion.

Reported net income grew on an annual basis to ¥309.0 million, or ¥4.92 per share, from ¥78.0 million, or ¥1.24 per share.

As of Aug. 7, US$1 was equivalent to ¥124.28.
