New Jersey solar renewable energy credit prices climbed steeply in value during the first week of December. Energy year 2016 SREC prices in the state posted an index at $227.50/MMBtu, while energy year 2017 SRECs notched an average at $231.00/MWh, advancing about $17 and $16, respectively, from the week before.
Moving in line with prices at the over-the-counter market, 45,855 New Jersey energy year 2017 SRECs were sold in a Dec. 6 auction at $230.02/apiece. The sale was held by the state's four electric distribution companies.
At other New Jersey markets, class I RECs were flat to a touch higher during the week ended Dec. 9. New Jersey vintage 2016 class I RECs were pegged at $7.50/MWh, while vintage 2017 class I RECs were seen at $8.03/MWh, firm to 3 cents up on the weekly period.
In Massachusetts, solar REC prices were pressed lower by an ongoing oversupply situation kicking off the final month of the year. Massachusetts 2016 SREC-I prices notched an average at $316.25/MWh, while the 2017 market was assessed at $305.00/MWh, sliding from averages above $330.25/MWh and $327.25/MWh, respectively, the week prior.
During the week ended Dec. 9, Massachusetts 2016 SREC-II values came in at $267.50/MWh, with the 2017 market eyed at $273.33/MWh, both steady on the week.
CSAPR 2016 seasonal NOX allowance indications stumble again
Cross-State Air Pollution Rule emissions market price indications were again firm to softer during the week ended Dec. 9.
The 2016 CSAPR seasonal NOx allowance market extended lower yet again, assessed in a bid-and-ask spread of $140 to $160, down from a range of $150 to $200 the week prior.
The 2017 CSAPR seasonal NOx market was quoted in a bid-and-ask spread of $350 to $900 during the week ended Dec. 9, unchanged on the weekly period.
CSAPR annual NOx allowances for 2016 were unchanged in a bid-and-offer range of $3 to $10.
CSAPR SO2 Group 1 and Group 2 allowances for 2016 held to a bid-and-ask spread of 50 cents to $10.
