LVMH signs UN standards to promote gender diversity

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE on March 14 said it signed the United Nations standards of conduct for business in a bid to promote gender diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

By signing the agreement, LVMH commits to combat discrimination against lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders and intersexed, or LGBTI, people within and outside its business. It pledged to defend the human rights of LGBTI individuals in communities where it operates.

In line with the move, the French luxury goods conglomerate said it is also aiming to achieve gender parity in key LVMH positions by 2020. It also introduced SHERO, an internal digital platform designed to empower female employees through a variety of content, and the Inclusion Index, a framework that will produce initiatives championing diversity and promote these efforts externally.

In addition, LVMH said it is working on a global training program related to unconscious bias and inclusive leadership which will be available to key employees by the end of 2019.
