Intesa Sanpaolo director resigns; Alfa-Bank's 4 directors to leave

Intesa Sanpaolo

Andrea Sironi resigned from the post of board director at Italian lender Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, effective Feb. 28. The board has decided not to replace, by co-option, the outgoing board director.

Sironi was appointed by co-option, on the same date, as board director of insurer Assicurazioni Generali SpA.

Alfa-Bank

Mikhail Fridman, Pyotr Aven, Alexander Galitsky and Sergey Matsotsky will leave Russia-based JSC Alfa-Bank's board. The board will be headed by Alfa-Bank President Oleg Sysuev, who currently serves as first deputy chairperson of the board.

Alfa-Bank was recently hit by Western sanctions over Russia's military operations in Ukraine. The EU also imposed sanctions against Mikhail Fridman and Pyotr Aven.

Close Brothers Group

Eddy Reynolds has been selected to succeed Martin Andrew as CEO of U.K.-based Close Brothers Group PLC unit Close Brothers Asset Management, effective March 7.

Reynolds was most recently managing director at insurer Standard Life Savings Ltd.

Bank of Africa - Tanzania

Bank of Africa- Tanzania Ltd. appointed Nehemiah Mchechu, executive chairperson of Amboni Group of Companies — a company with investment interests in various economic sectors — as chairperson of the board of directors, The Citizen reported.

Mchechu, who has over a decade of banking experience, replaces Nyamajeje Weggoro, according to the report.
